randomness

alright here's a great black velvet painting i spotted at my favorite thrift shop in west Seattle, run by a pack of really mean, really old ladies and men, but they mean well, it's a charity, next door to the famous skate church for runaway boys. they've recently remodeled and the place looks great, everything is super cheap, 1.00 range, fifty cent, you know theses places, but some one must have got to them, someone with a computer or some vague sense of hip, this painting is so incongruous to the rest of the shop it almost explodes off the wall. and the price is an astounding $175.00 well worth it fer sure, but not for me. it's still there, ask, i'll drive you over.
sorry about the photo quality, i had to stealth shoot with cellphone cam, shitty.
the second photo is of some random house i drove passed today, and what, these nuts have built a giant roller tent thingy to cover the whole house with, this is the craziest thing i have ever seen.
the tarp must weight three hundred pounds supported with twenty foot 2x6's just insane, plus their doing all of this next door to crazy fisherman i park all my boats on the lawn and street guy.

killa kute has been stolen

okay you mugs, start talking, killa kute has been stolen en route to Brooklyn and i'm gonna get it back if i have to kick every punks head in, from Blanches to chic chac over to the Ukrainian national home, all the way to blue and gold, watch out, lollipops, this fruit loop is gonna save some art from dark evil bad guys from outer space museums. Helllllo.
oh my god time travelling art collectors have come to destroy my shitty art to save teenage eye-balls from melting.

SAVE YOURSELVES
until then i'll be sitting at the bar at Montero's on Atlantic ave, sipping a coke. watching the door.

new banner- with thanks to Jimmy D Curtis

a few years back Jimmy and I were working over at his house. building a new roof for his old concrete garage, next to the structure the kids had a chicken coup, full of rats, and jimmies cat would sit there all day near a hole and every ten minutes or so, she'd pull a juvenile rat out and give it to jimmy, who, i discovered later had stacked them all up on this rubber rat we found. like a sculpture of motherly love. I really miss working with Jimmy, i see him now almost everyday, i drive by on the way to school, i tap the horn and wave, and he ignores me, he's working at some stony guys house, weeding, house painting, building fences-
i can't believe i kicked him in the ribs, and tried to throw him down a flight of stairs. back, way back, when i had the greatest job in the world.

P.S. if you get bored or excited there is more art posted up at the above site, thanks and keep peeking, i have no secrets from you.

ELVIS WITH CALENDAR

YEARS AGO when i lived in Seattle and Hugo had moved to Paris, we had mailed each other rather frequently. one day a book arrived titled ELVIS WITH CALENDAR by Hugh Joseph James Brown Kathmandu Nepal O'boyle.

here is a small sampling of the art work involved, and why Hugo is one of the greatest artists ever, you should see his painting, the man brings creativity to all he meets and everything he touches, now he's rebuilding seventeenth century farm houses in the country some where in France, i don't have a map. Raising wonderful children and talking to chickens, ponies and geese, good morning hero.

sometime in the nineties, his garage burned down, and thousands and thousands of drawing notebooks and paintings were destroyed. i was there watching it burn when a neighbour poured a bucket of water over my head, maybe he thought i was on fire. i hope someday soon Hugo will rebuild that studio/garage and invite me to a show, so i can learn something about art again.

{warning, this is blog post #89 there will be a special 100th blog party , as soon as i figure out how to have a celebration on a computer screen, look for prizes, give aways, games, and fabulous straight edge festivities}

holy crap a 1966 chevy van pulled up and stole my heart

i'm sitting at home when i hear the sound of vintage steel pulling up my hill, stopping in front of my house and i jump to feet, slowly with my shattered back and look out the window and scream, get the camera, Deborah Henry has pulled up in a sweet ass 1960-66 Chevy van, oh, my god i almost fall down in tears, i get out side and rip the barn doors open and jump in the back and crawl around. for i have found heaven.

the tail lights both say 1960, i can't read the vin, the paint/trim tag is meaningless, and there is no registration in the glove box, so who knows what year this beast is, and it's so stubby and box like, can i have it? Henry has just come back from NYC, and drove straight to my house, i am the first to see this master piece, maybe if Chevy still made 'em like this, huh?

this photo is of the engine shot from standing in the street and looking into the windshield, i want one just like this, damn it, look at that sweet little straight six, you could practically work on the engine while you drove around.
there are no vans that can compare to this wild wonderful machine, Deb Henry is going to use it for work and advertising for the plumbing business, SPLASH. if you see this classic van creeping your neighbour hood run out side screaming. throw toilet paper, or just wave and say hi.
for more photos, check out my van blog at-
seeing that all you crazy chevy guys are hitting this site up i thought i would help lead you down the road to brotherhood and assistance~ vintage chevy van club linked below
