the artist as monster

No Paintin' Any Time~ is the name of this show at 18th and Yesler, caged, behind bars for it's own protection
this lot will someday be a giant concrete hive for little workers from the eastside or California but for now it's free and open to suggestions of art and harmless bombings

the oldsters who retired into that apartment building can look out their windows and ignore me

wildflowers unplucked

chained paintings like bodega windows

if you can climb a fence, or crawl, you can paint a picture with me, we can hold hand. . . i washed them, don't worry

waiting for first light i drank a pot of coffee and felt the pull of noir

caught~ art gawkers

just walk away. . . just walk away

Jalopy

jalopy is one of my favorite words ~ i built this for the kids years ago, nobody was really into it, so i put it under the stairs, today we drove it around all day, down hills, over hobos and into trees
i took it out of storage because i'm building an artkart out of its superstructure and chassis, or a palanquin, so i can wander around the streets like a cartoon hurdygurdy man selling art and hiding within the walls because today i found out that i was scary

getting ready for tomorrows art install

very much a car theme going on today
a new car post over here~ http://blownbrown.blogspot.com/2010/09/1965.html

painting before i ruin it~ secret squirrel

vs the sketch for the painting. to show the world that i suck with a pen, i can only paint

then i had to candle my freaking ear, in hopes to pull the sand out, la push sand, water and life, and set Dashiell's head on fire

all posts still should end in flowers, as summer closes with a slam down upon our fingers

today kind of reminds me of the little rascals film where they build a go-kart fire engine and fly down hill for hours, loaded with kids, babies and dogs

Stashtober is right around the corner

is everyone getting ready for the glorious month long holiday, that ends in free candy, Happy Stashtober~ thought i'd get a jump on all you hairier folks
driving the kids to school today, i parked in front of this hideously sad sight, slowly decaying in the space between buildings

so incredibly amazingly picturesque, perfectly charming in blooming mildew, rot and swollen veneer

if i lived in a more spaciously lawned home, i'd collect all the free pianos given away, daily on Craig's list and set them out on my front lawn, bonnet up, exposed and slowly stop action film them for years and years and years

undressed roof tops

D. Henry put me on the spot a few weeks ago, he always has the greatest titles for these wild free street paintings, and pointing to this and me, i couldn't remember the title, crap~ not so great~
what ants paint, 2010

Ship vs bottle, 2010
i've just framed these and built stands for them, so i can let them free

backed the vans up, lined them up for some distant engine swap~ dreams

two tailgates as roof, i love my vanagon collection
Neil~

hardcore nobody

that's me on the far left, there is another version of this photo somewhere, i saw it once in a fanzine, i got dragged into that photo, by one of the crew
i didn't really skate, i rode a bike i borrowed from Beth Olsen and skated her skateboard too, but i went to all the shows, while i lived there, with Carmen and rick and Maureen and Beth and even Michelle
thanks Carmen

shoulder to cry on

i would like the graphic novel to look just like this~

i've already started the second shoulder to cry on book, and have asked jake to work on doing the graphic novel art work, he's been doing, these dark, gross paintings, that i like, they're so good and well, dark, we'll see how he does

here i am mailing the book away to Canada

and being scolded~because there is no picture taking in the post office

finished my new sign, but the art attack van has a ruptured artery, so i can't poach up an art show in you living room

gothchicks in my backyard

way, too close up into my face

the 3-day novel publishers, wont let you put any of the novels on-line until they read them all and judge them, so after the new year, we'll plaster some lit of the blog
if you know anyone, or are anyone who dreams of writing a novel, a film, or just a really long out-line i would highly recommend this event, real good times, full of drama and nervous breakdown moments, and surprisingly fun.
I drank a whole lotta tea, ate cookies and powered thru it, i would suggest a straightedge life style to go with the weekend i think the clarity of mind helped bring me through to the end, just fine, if not a bit jittery
here's the link if you're interested

3 day novel writing contest/ done

day 2 in the van long after Jake had to bow out, and to tell the truth, this thing is really brutal to the brain, and body
my slackline shoes died, Mee-Mee threw them out, when the stink became over-whelming

i slept, and ate, and worked on this short book, 10 hours a day, or more

this is my writers back cover photo, paper and computer, pens, a touch of salt and pepper hair, surfboard on the wall. 65 pages, it's all i could do, the story was done, it finished itself, anything more, would seem like filler

when i novelize it, i can add the fluffy, the stretched sex scenes the random violence the sci-fi, the bikini girls, all the crap from TV, cartoon, comic books and other people's lives

short novel DONE, oh, yeah !!!!!

Dasheill was my illustrator, Mee-Mee took care of the kids and me, and feed me snacks
thnx,
Neil~
